Metalworks in a residential building on rue Bellechasse by FFM

Description

The construction of a six-unit residential building on Rue Bellechasse was an ambitious project aimed at providing modern and secure housing in a rapidly developing neighborhood. The project required careful attention to both aesthetics and functionality, in order to create a comfortable living space for its residents while integrating harmoniously into the surrounding urban fabric.

Fer Forgé Montréal was mobilized for its mastery in metal fabrication and its ability to provide personalized solutions meeting the specific requirements of the project.

Client Goals

  • Ensure safety and accessibility throughout the structure with the design of interior staircases and an emergency stairwell.
  • Integrate metallic architectural elements that enrich the aesthetics of the building while meeting practical needs.
  • Use a mesh metal curtain wall to visually camouflage the parking lot and improve the exterior appearance of the building.

Work carried out by Fer Forgé Montréal
Fer Forgé Montréal provided its expertise through several key interventions:

Manufacturing and installation of interior purlin staircases
Purlin staircases were designed to optimize space and improve the flow of circulation inside the building, combining modern aesthetics and robustness.

Galvanized steel emergency stairwell
A sustainable solution for the safety of residents was put in place with the construction of a galvanized steel emergency stairwell, ensuring efficient and safe evacuation in the event of an emergency.

Mesh metal curtain wall
To meet the objective of camouflaging the parking lot, a metal mesh curtain wall was installed. This structure not only aesthetically hides the parking space but also contributes to the security and privacy of the building.

Manufacturing and installation of guardrails and architectural panels
The metal railings and architectural panels have been carefully designed and installed to enhance the safety of balconies and terraces while adding a touch of elegance to the architecture of the building.
